This is the sweetest! In November we did a birthday hike in Benguet and I didn't know my niece, Maia Imperial, was taking candid videos (thought she was just taking photos of us and the landscape - and she does commissioned work btw). Then, she made a 2-minute video as a present for me. And she used Mt. Joy's Evergreen as the background music! It's one of my favorites 💖 Should also prolly tell you: Don't wear sneakers like I did in Mt. Yangbew. Trail's muddy and slippery. Only wore a pair and that tita outfit because we were eating out afterwards, and am too lazy to bring hiking shoes and dry-fit clothes. Song: Evergreen by Mt. Joy
A Baguio Birthday: Hiking in Mt. Yangbew
Eight years ago, Lia and I took a bus to Sisiman, a small coastal town in Mariveles. Last Sunday, we returned and took our photos in the same spots. How the town has changed - so has Lia. It seemed just like yesterday. Time flies indeed. Don't blink. Note: We explored the grotto and hill mainly. The lighthoise and beach is now off-limits due to quarrying, a saddening development. We went to Aguawan Beach instead, which is a quick 7-minute tricycle ride away. Song: Fireworks by Sion Louks
Sisiman, Mariveles: Then & Now
We did a sidetrip to this little-known waterfall upon descending from Mt. Anggas in Misamis Oriental. It's a peaceful spot with several basins that are ideal for cooling down after a hike. Entrance fee is P20. Fee is included if you book a hike with Nyors Playground. Abaga Falls in Misamis Oriental
The Itum Trail is the newest and hardest trail to Mt. Hibok Hibok, Camiguin's most popular volcano. It's a challenging 6-hour hike that would have you using ropes in several sections, climbing boulders, and slipping and sliding here and there. Very lush and highly rewarding.
