Birthday Giveaway: Rick Warren Books!

Christmas is drawing near. And while we did have a very recent and incredible loss in the family, I suddenly feel like I would be happier if I gave away things and made somebody else happy. Call it overcompensation or the Law of Loss (if there is such a thing), but there are things in the house that need a new home. 


I have this uncontrollable urge to buy books on sale, sometimes even when I know I won’t be reading them. Like for instance, Rick Warren’s self-help books. I don’t do self-help. I barely even visit that section in the bookstore. But they were on sale so I purchased them, and they’ve been sitting untouched on my desk for the longest time.


There are a lot of people out there who can better benefit from Mr. Warren’s uplifting Christian take on life than me, so I’m giving away his two bestseller books, The Purpose-Driven Life and The Purpose of Christmas. The first one, I bought second hand but in very good condition. The second is new and hardbound, still in plastic, freshly bought from National Bookstore.

They will be raffled off and given to one Filipina Explorer reader, shipping included. Very apt reads for Yuletide, I suppose. Simply like Filipina Explorer on Facebook to enter.     My favorite books is Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. I love the literature pieces from the 1600-1800's 🙂

    Happy Birthday Gretchen!
    I can't identify what my favorite book is as I don't really love to read books. But the book that I always read to my baby is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Eric Carle. 🙂

    I recommend you read it. It is very helpful and inspirational in terms of how we teach our kids financial intelligence. 🙂 It was also my wake up call to make a difference in my life.
