Thinking of You. This, the forever promise of market-leading appliance maker, Electrolux.
As someone who’s been a long-time Electrolux user and who has been around since the era of the Electrolux door-to-door men, I can attest to how they’ve always held up to that promise. We’ve been overusing their steam iron and Dynamica vacuum cleaner for over three years now. They’ve been smashed and swung about by our toddler and still, they remain my trusty companions in keeping house till now.
Innovative. Hardy. Modish. Easy to use. Upscale-looking but reasonably-priced too. Electrolux is the blend of all the good things you could ever fancy in a home appliance.
And last Thursday, the brand upped the ante as they introduced their Delightful-E Yummy campaign along with a new range of smart kitchen appliances to me and over 20 other lifestyle bloggers at their new shack at The Fort.

Delightful-E is a family-centric campaign that zeroes in on the “simple yet most treasured family moments” through meals made Delightful-E in one’s own kitchen. A bevy of exciting digital activities runs for several weeks to support the campaign including the Delightful-E Yummy online photo contest, Delightful-E Yummy Web Series on YouTube and Your Moments with Mommy contest.
Electrolux’s new breed of kitchen essentials. Would love to have those in my kitchen. |
It was all about the warm and inviting call of food that night, and it translated to everything else: from the yummy fare (to-drool-for Angus rib eye, crunchy vinaigrette and clamshell spaghetti truly made my day) to the set of shiny kitchen essentials lined up at the counter.
“When you think of home, what usually comes to mind?” Electrolux Marketing Manager Andrea Pionillo enthused. For her, it was her king size bed and two-hour foot massages. For host-of-the-evening radio jock Delamar, it was her kid Cooper. And home-made food. I echo her preference. Even on out-of-the-house Sundates with Lia, I prefer my meals cooked versus canned or bought in a fastfood joint. There’s something curiously comforting in food handcrafted the old fashioned way.
The kitchen is truly the heart of every home, and as Andrea puts it, in every Filipino home, home-cooked food is an important conversation starter on the family dinner table.
It is this same thoughtfulness that the company aimed to address. In a brief and fun cooking demo by brand ambassadors Janice Crisostomo-Villanueva of Mommy Mundo and celebrity chef Bruce Lim, the team showed us how their newest kitchen goodies can create a more delightful, more energy-efficient and breezier kitchen experience.

Using Electrolux’s oven toaster, Mommy Janice whipped up her anchovy and tomato-based Rellenong Bangus fillet (I know. Relleno by toasting – brilliant, isn’t it?). Chef Bruce Lim served us Creamy Adobo Penne Pasta using the 61-liter induction range, which uses a patented four-zone flameless induction technology. Both finished in 5 minutes tops and turned out pretty good too. Cheska Kramer made choco chip cookies using the built-in microwave.

“A brand that puts importance to the value of family.” Chef Bruce tells Delamar why he loves being an Electrolux ambassador. |
What makes these kitchen gadgets so special? It’s the way they’re designed with consumer benefits in mind. Induction technology allows for zappy and energy-saving cooking and baking. The induction range is built with a range, an oven and a grill. The built-in microwave oven, able to accommodate servings up to a whopping 25 liters, comes with a grill function on top of several auto-cook functions. The Powermix Silent Blender, is well, amazingly silent; the blades, powerful enough to grind nuts and coffee beans.
“List the top 3 most calorie burning chores.” Aaand the winning team includes THAT on the list during Blogger Feud game. LOL. |
But my favorite has got to be the 3-door NutriFresh fridge. It features an adaptive cooling system plus NutriLight – LED technology that mimics sunlight and “tricks” veggies into staying fresh, vitamin-packed and crunchy despite long storage. The three-layered compartments are sturdy enough to hold a 3-year old.

It has “writable” doors too. “I use a non-permanent marker to write: Be home late, babe. Night out with the boys,” said Chef Bruce Lim. Neat, eh?
Now those are appliances that really think of you.
