Disclaimer: We did not pay for our meals. But I am not fond of ass-kissing either. Just sayin’.
When the folks at Big Better Burgers discovered our pleasant experience at the BBB SM North Edsa branch, they were so delighted that they invited us over to dine once more so we could try the rest of the menu. We insisted on paying, but they insisted it is a thank you.
At once, we were handed the list by gracious servers. I say this both as a second-time customer and and a discreet on-looker to others around: They were attentive yet quite reserved, quick but not annoyingly eager to please. These were traits that were there even we’ve gone as paying customers months ago.
We were served smoking hot fried potato wedges as we waited for our orders (P65 for a small plate), the unpeeled skin still crackling in its thin, earthy coat, and the fried wedges soft and yummy just like the first time.

“Please try the sundaes as well. They’re very good for the summer,” they said. Not that they need to say that; this mom rarely ever leaves without dessert! The cafe espresso wasn’t available so we got the only other sundae on the menu which was the cheese parmesan sundae (P85). It came in a queer shot glass, its pale yellow cream, smooth and slowly melting, crowned with devilish whipped cream and crumbs of premium parmesan. Light, novel and downright classy. Truly made my day, that ice cream.
