Image by Renee O. via Trover.com
Whether traveling with your family or on your own, hotels with indoor and outdoor pools always give your vacation that extra oomph. They are a perfect way to laze around and unwind after a long day of exploring the city – not to mention being a great recreational activity for kids.

For your next trip in the Midwest, have a look-see of these great accommodations that have indoor and outdoor pools for a more refreshing trip. Some even come with a waterpark!

Indoor Pools in Akron, OH

The Cuyahoga River lends a fantastic vista for the Sheraton Suites Akron as guests bask in its heated indoor pool. There’s also a Jacuzzi for multilevel suites. If you are looking for more water adventure, the hotel is also just 1.7 miles away from the Waterworks Family Aquatic Center.
Another excellent option in the city is the 3-star Hilton Garden Inn, which has an indoor pool and a whirlpool tub. If you want to do something other than swim, head over to the Akron Zoo five miles from the hotel.

Water Parks in Traverse City, MI

The largest of Michigan cities, Traverse City is peppered with picturesque hotels of all stripes. Kids and kids-at-heart will have all-day fun in the Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City waterpark as adults get themselves pampered with massage and body wraps.

Those who fancy casual strolls will love the lakefront lodging at Pinestead Reef Resort. Their heated indoor pool and hot tub are perfect for a nippy early morning swim, too. In case the little ones are aching for something out of the extraordinary, the Great Lakes Children’s Museum can be visited and is less than three miles away.

Children’s Pools in Madison, WI

With their upgraded Whirlpool Suites, the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson is a huge hit among families. If in-room whirlpool tubs aren’t enough, guests can also take a dip in the heated indoor pool, complete with a water slide play area. For business travelers, the King Suite features a sleeper sofa, a microwave, and two TVs.

Another great choice when it comes to hotels with children’s pools is the Hampton Inn and Suites Madison-West. Kids will surely have the time of their lives at the children’s play area and whirlpool. All 132 rooms come with the signature Hampton beds and complimentary hot breakfast, high-speed Internet, and shuttle service.

Seasonal Outdoor Pools in Springfield, MO

For a taste of historic Americana, troop to Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven in Springfield. Created in 1938, the hotel features beautiful eco-friendly sandstone cottages on the famed Route 66 – not to mention a refreshing outdoor pool available in season. Your pets can join in the fun too!

Another place you can check out is the Lamplighter Inns and Suites South, which also has a seasonal outdoor pool. This roadside hotel’s outdoor pool comes with a sundeck, lounge chairs, and picnic tables for lazy vacation days. Rooms are equipped with free high-speed Internet and hot breakfast.
