Mad About Manhattan: Luxurious Stays At the Heart of NYC

As one of New York’s most popular tourist destinations, Manhattan is teeming with electrifying urban sights, from Fifth Avenue’s designer boutiques to waterfront skyscrapers, to ultra-modern luxe accommodations.

For an immersive Big Apple experience, book a stay in the thick of Manhattan. Apart from placing you in the midst of NYC’s thriving big city scenery, doing so offers greater convenience when exploring more Manhattan destinations.

Here are five accommodation suggestions you can check out.

The Marcel at Gramercy

Located in the quieter Kip’s Bay neighborhood, The Marcel at Gramercy Hotel affords guests a relaxed environment with convenient access to Midtown and Lower Manhattan. A short stroll takes you to the Gramercy Square, the Chelsea Piers golf range and the Rockefeller Center skating rink.

Reflecting NYC’s chic art galleries, rooms feature customized headboards and abstract art. Staples include Bigelow toiletries, a minibar, and an iPod dock. For a sleek view of the Manhattan skyline, head to the 10th floor roof deck where snug leather seats (and free Wi-Fi) await. Guests also get a complimentary umbrella, wine tasting, and daily newspaper.

Manhattan NYC — an Affinia Hotel

If visiting Times Square is on the top of your list, reserve a room at the Manhattan NYC — an Affinia Hotel. This 616-room hotel rests only half-a-mile from Times Square and across the street from the Penn Station. Within walking distance are the Chelsea art district and Fifth Avenue’s upmarket shops.

Fancy lobby and the Niles restaurant aside, the hotel is famous for its free Affinia Junior loot bag full of gifts and snacks as well as the VIPaws program where pets enjoy full-board amenities including a designer bed, toys, treats, and dog walking essentials.

The Warwick New York Hotel

Highly accessible to Midtown Manhattan, The Warwick New York Hotel is a mere three-minute walk from Central Park, half-a-mile northeast of Times Square, and a block away from The Museum of Modern Art.

The hotel offers elite rooms with private balconies. The 1920s-inspired suites include Keurig coffeemakers and an interactive multimedia system.

Host to music icons Elvis Presley and The Beatles, The Warwick exudes an eclectic mix of vintage and modern charm, as seen in its two in-house restaurants: Mural’s on 54 and Randolph’s Bar and Lounge.

Amenities include a fitness center, guest package services, and a business center with free printing.

Wellington Hotel

Bedded on Manhattan’s Fashion Avenue, Wellington Hotel is at the doorstep of important landmarks along the avenue: Carnegie Hall, Broadway, MSG, and the Penn Station. A leisurely four-minute walk brings you to Central Park, where you can jog and bike.

Servicing travelers for over a century, the hotel is praised for its top-rated Greek restaurant, Molyvos, and the American fare-serving Park Café. Rooms open onto a view of bustling 7th Avenue. Though there’s a surcharge for Wi-Fi use, all 600 rooms are furnished with a work desk, Kewl toiletries, and 32-inch HDTVs. Suites have fully-furnished kitchenettes.

Millenium Broadway Hotel Times Square

Surrounded by the Lyceum Theatre and Belasco Theatre in Manhattan’s Theater District, Millenium Broadway Hotel Times Square is perfect for Broadway aficionados.

The iconic 1903 Hudson Theatre adjoins the hotel. Theatre ticket services are available at the concierge. With 43 function venues though, the hotel mostly attracts business travelers.
Along with the 16th floor fitness center, the 600 ergonomically designed rooms boast expansive views of Manhattan. For casual dining, hop over to Restaurant Charlotte, or the Charlotte Bar and Lounge for sandwiches and cocktails.
