I am having an incredibly hard time reconciling with the fact that this is deemed front page news by a national newspaper, and above all, a headliner.
Seems like PDI is becoming more and more tabloidy by the day: from the catastrophic decline of the quality of Youngblood articles (I’d have to ask if all the youth is concerned about today is the horrors of singlehood and self-absorption), the malicious pictures of Demetrio Vicente during the impeachment proceedings, Margaux Salcedo’s “Please Don’t Give Blogging A Bad Name” article – which earned the ire of bloggers all over the sphere, questioning the paper’s Balanced News, Fearless Views slogan – and several other distasteful yellow journalism acts.
It hasn’t been a practice of mine to read the papers, at least regularly. Now PDI’s given me more reason not to.
